The adoption of the Language Law in the Macedonian Parliament, which paves the way for the use of Albanian as an official language, has been welcomed by Albanian politics today.
Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati through a status on Facebook said that the adoption of the law on the use of Albanian language by the Macedonian Parliament represents an important achievement for Albanians as a state-building population and a step forward for democratization and strengthening Macedonia's Euro-Atlantic road.
"The adoption of the law on the use of the Albanian language by the Parliament after the President's refusal and obstructionist behavior of certain old-fashioned segments of Macedonia's policy constitutes an important achievement for Albanians as a state-building population and a step forward for the democratization and strengthening of the Euro-Atlantic route of Macedonia .The finalization of this difficult venture and perseverance demonstrated is an evidence of political maturity and inter-ethnic understanding despite countless obstacles.
The proper implementation of the law and the establishment of monitoring mechanisms ensures a better and fairer access to services and an involvement of Albanians in good governance, development policies and the building of an open, non-dividing, European value-based society", concludes Bushati.
The adoption of the law on the use of the Albanian language has been described by the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, as an historic and important act for Albanians.
"I greet the determination to approve the law on the use of Albanian language by the Macedonian Parliament, as an important historical and important act not only for the Albanians but also for the European future of Macedonia. Congratulations! "
