28 members of the European Parliament from various political groups have signed a joint letter and sent them to Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, as well as to Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
The initiators of this letter are the Slovenian Igor Šoltes and German MEP Rebecca Harms.
Šoltes says in a Twitter message that with this letter they express to Kosovo leaders concerns about the fate of the six Turkish citizens, arrested in Kosovo and expelled in Turkey without going through the judicial phase."As members of the European Parliament, we urge you to respect the legal procedures according to European standards. All measures taken by Kosovo authorities should respect the rule of law and promote universal respect for human rights and freedoms. Arbitrary procedures for their arrest and expulsion are a violation of these principles." Euro Deputies say in a letter sent to President Thaçi and Prime Minister Haradinaj.
