Agriculture and tourism are two sectors that are seen as priorities by Israeli investors, which are largely involved in indirect investment in Albania. The Israeli ambassador to Tirana, Boaz Rodkin, invited to the show “PërTëFol” in Scan TV, emphasized the problems that have hindered so far the Israeli business, despite the interest shown.
"Israeli entrepreneurs are interested in entering the Albanian market, but there are some obstacles, including bureaucracy or frequent legal changes. Some of them are working with legal experts, trying to decipher and get acquainted with the legal basis of how to work here. But to be honest, this process has been a bit slower than I expected when I took office three years ago in Albania."During 2017, Albania is visited by 6200 Israeli tourists, but this number is expected to increase dramatically with the launch of direct flights Tel Aviv-Tirana at the end of June or the early days of July. Another important reason for getting familiar with Albania is related to the inclusion of a special chapter in Israeli history textbooks on Jewish refugees during the Second World War.
"Last year, in Israel's high school teaching programs, a chapter on the Holocaust included a special chapter on Albania's support for Jews in your country. The recognition of these stories will also be one of the main reasons the Israelites will seek to explore Albania more and to meet with the Albanians who have performed so noble acts during the Second World War."
Meanwhile, in the next five years, according to the Ministry of Tourism, is aimed an increase by 10 times the number of tourists.
