The wonderful bird of Upupa epops seen in Kosovo

 

 Hoopoe or Upupa epops (Alb: Pupëza) is a kind of rare African bird, which is known for its characteristic "crown" of feathers, and is seen recently in Kosovo.

Below through this video by Arian Mavriqi you can see this rare and wonderful bird, which is also seen in Kamenica, Kosovo.

The Hoopoe is short-legged, with a length of 29 cm, spends its life time on trees and on the ground.

The Upupa epops has a light pink color, a black lace, while their backs and tails have white and black stripes.

In general, they are seen alone as they feed hiking through grass and bare ground in search of worms with their thin beaks.

Their existence seems to have been documented since the time of Ancient Egypt, on the walls of temples and graves.

The Upupa epops is commonly found in the gardens and fields of Europe, Africa, South America and even Madagascar.

This wonderful bird is also mentioned in the holly book of Quran.
