At the border crossing with Serbia, in Jarina, Kosovo authorities have arrested the Serb Dejan Slavić, suspected of committing war crimes in Kosovo.
In the announcement of the so-called Kosovo office in the Serbian government, it is reported that Slavić was arrested today as a war crimes suspect.
As stated, Dejan Slavic, born in 1974, who until 2003 lived in Obiliq, while currently living in Lazarevac, was arrested in Jarina and was detained for 48 hours.This office has called his arrest as un democratically and illegitimate, referring to Kosovo's 'secret lists'.
According to this office, he and other Serbs "are being arrested on the basis of false accusations and suspicions".
This office is said to have provided to Slavić legal protection.
In Kosovo, Serbia has committed numerous war crimes to the extent of genocide and so far few Serbs have been convicted of crimes against Albanians.
