From Israel's Jerusalem began this afternoon the 101st edition of Giro D'Italia (Italy's Giro d'Italia) cycling, where participates also the Albanian cyclist Eugert Zhupa, who for the fourth time in his career participates in this tournament.
The appearances of the cyclist competing with Willier Triestina-Selle Italia team will try a better result this season, but in a statement he made on his official website, Zhupa says that it was not easy to participate ."My journey this year has been long and difficult. There have been times when I wanted to give up everything, to give up my dream, but here I am here, at the start of Italy's Cross, for the fourth time in my career. Because life is a dream for everyone and I do not want to give up dreams," writes Eugert Zhupa, the only Albanian cyclist who managed to compete in such an important event as Italy's Giro.
The novelty of this year is that the first stage starts from Jerusalem, which had never happened before.
In total there will be 3562 km that cyclists will traverse the 21 stages of the 101st edition. To avoid any incidents during this phase in Israel, 10,000 police agents will be engaged to ensure that everything goes well.
This edition is considered very balanced, with two stages that are individual chronometer, shorter than 45 km, while 8 stages will be closed with mountain, which of course will affect in the name of the winner of this tournament.
The contenders for winning this tournament are Fabio Aru, Chris Froome and Tom Dumoulin.
