The Energy Regulatory Authority (ERE) has approved the licensing of five photovoltaic power stations, four of which will be built in the north of the country.
1- The Company "Seman Sunpower" sh.pk, in the electricity production activity of the Topojë Photovoltaic Plant (Sheq Marinas) with installed power of 2000 KW for a 20-year term.2-The Company "Age Sunpower" sh.pk, in the electricity production activity of the photovoltaic power plant Topojë (Sheq Marinas) with installed power of 2000 KW, for a 20-year term.
3-The Company "Malësia Solar 1" sh.a., for power generation from the photovoltaic power plant "Lahë e Poshtme", Shkël, Koplik, Malësia e Madhe, Shkodër District, with installed capacity of 2.5 MW for a 25 year term.
4-The Company "Malësia Solar 2" sh.pk, also at "Lahë e Poshtme", Shkrel, Koplik, Malësia e Madhe, Shkodër District, with an installed capacity of 2.5 MW, with a 25 year term.
5-Company "Malesia Solar 3" sh.pk, which has the same geographical specifications, installation capacity and license period as the first two.
The promotion of renewable energy sources gained widespread attention during 2017, especially the one related to solar and wind energy.
The diversification of this sector and the growing interest of entrepreneurs to invest in this field has supported the adoption of the necessary legal framework "On promoting the use of renewable energy sources" according to international standards and mitigation policies undertaken by the government for the expansion of investments with contribution to the domestic economy, as in the case of electricity production.
