Cyprus, represented by the singer of Albanian origin, Eleni Foureira, was ranked second in the Eurovision Song Contest yesterday night.
After the winner emerged and Albania gave only 10 points to Cyprus and 12 to Italy (to Ermal Meta, also Albanian), the Greek media kicked off against our country.
Eleni grew up in Greece, lived there for a long time and then moved to Cyprus, a country she was representing yesterday. However, the points that Albanians gave to Eleni has left the Greeks dissatisfied, who say that Eleni went to the water source but did not drank, due to the lack of 2 points from Albania.
Protothema writes:
Eleni Foureira was so close to the source, but could not drink water ... because Netta won for Israel. But what impressed and left bitter taste to Cyprus's representative is her homeland, Albania, who did not gave the 12 points to her. Things could have changed if Eleni would have taken some more points from some places, especially from Albania."
However, even if Albania had given to Cyprus 12 points, would not suffice for Eleni to win the Eurovision, because Netta got 529 points while Eleni in the second place got 436 points.
