This Tuesday was not a usual day for Tirana Mayor, Erion Veliaj.
As he went to work on with his bicycle, Mayor Veliaj met dozens of Dutch students who came to visit Tirana these days and had chosen to ride a bicycle on the streets of the capital and on the Skanderbeg square.
They had the opportunity to talk with the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, about the changes that have undergone these three years in capital and the dream of creating new, environmentally-friendly transport options, as Albanian Telegraphyc Agency writes. The Municipality of Tirana has shown readiness to facilitate the movement of bicycles by building dedicated lanes equipped with protective panels, increasing thus the safety of cyclists' travel.
Meanwhile, the municipality has planned the arrival in Tirana of 4 thousand bicycles, which will not only create facilities for citizen transportation, but at the same time will also affect significantly the air quality.
