Enterprises from the European Union countries account for 66.7 percent of foreign and joint ventures in Albania.
In the publication of the Enterprise Register for 2017, INSTAT (Albanian Institution of Statistics) notes that enterprises with owners or co-owners of Italian and Greek origin make up 54 percent of the total number of foreign and joint ventures.Economic activities, such as call centers and wholesale trade, are mainly the activities of enterprises with foreign owners or co-owners.
Foreign joint ventures are mainly concentrated in the municipalities of Tirana and Durrës. In these municipalities are registered more than 77.9 percent of the businesses of Albania with owners or co-owners who are foreign nationals, according ISTAT.
