The story of an Albanian who returned by his wish in prison cell has surprised the Italian journalists of Il Giornale. The 45-year-old Milto Dosi, unemployed and without a future in Albania, went to Italy claiming that it would be better for him in jail in the neighboring state.
According to the Italian media, he said: "Better in a prison in Italy than unemployed in Albania. At least in prison I will eat one year for free," he said.
"He saved his last money to buy a ferry ticket that took him to the other side of the Adriatic. He greeted his wife and three children, and went down to Ancona, and immediately, accompanied by a lawyer, was taken to the police station in Pesaro. He knew what he was doing: in 2012, when he was living in Italy, he was sentenced to 3 years in prison for drugs trafficking. In 2014, when he was still serving 12 months in prison, he was expelled, with the obligation not to go in Italy until 2024. But this did not happen after he had been called to repay the remaining sentence ", Writes Il Giornale. The article states that "the police were surprised when Dosi appeared smiling, even the journalists."
He responded: "In my country I tried to work as a truck driver, as I worked before in Italy, but when I went in Germany, France, Austria, the policemen saw my expell decree and turned me back."
"I had nothing to feed my family. So I called my lawyer and told him that I did not have a solution, I would have to end my sentence so I could live and work without problems," he confessed.
Meanwhile, the Pesaro court has ordered that Milto Dosi for the moment to stay in the house of his brother, who lives in Fano. On July 3 he will appear in court to respond to the violation of the deportation order, with the risk of return.
