Visa liberalization with the European Union for the citizens of Kosovo will be done this year - this promise is the promise of Tanja Fajon for Kadri Veseli.
Fajon told Veseli that Kosovo has already met all the criteria, says a press release from the Kosovo Assembly. The communiqué noted that Fajon told Veseli that once the European Commission come up with a positive report at the end of June, shortly, in early July, will be put on the agenda the issue of Kosovo.
"I am happy to meet with the President of the Assembly of Kosovo to discuss the next steps for visa liberalization. My support is unwavering, because the citizens of Kosovo deserve visa-free travel in the Schengen zone," reportedly said Fajon. The President of Kosovo Assembly, Kadri Veseli, said that the European Union should move forward on Kosovo and its citizens, particularly with regard to the visa liberalisation this year.
"Fajon is doing a very positive job, so visa liberalization for our citizens will happen. We analyzed the reality we are in.
We are almost in the final phase. All technical conditions are met. Now we only need political decision-making. I am sure that by the end of this year our citizens will move freely without visas to the Schengen area.
Fajon also advised me in which countries to orient, to convince them about visa liberalization. We are on the verge of great decision," Veseli said. Kosovo is the only country in the Balkans where citizens still need visas to travel to European Union countries.
