The opening of negotiations is the main objective of the Albanian Government, as the decision of 28 EU member states is expected at the Council of Ministers meeting on June 28.
The Netherlands is a country with which is cooperating fruitfully with Albania in matters of justice, security and economy.Albania's Ambassador to the Netherlands, Adia Sakiqi, responded to Oculus News relating to the progress of the negotiation process and the stay of the Netherlands.
"Meetings are conducted continuously with the Dutch Foreign Ministry, in particular with the Dutch Parliament, and contacts with Dutch media representatives," said the Albanian diplomat.
Also in this context, the ambassador emphasized that "meetings in the Netherlands with different political actors are vonducted by the Albanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Justice, Minister of Interior, Mayor of Tirana, Interior Deputy Ministers and those of Justice."
Further on, Sakiqi adds that bilateral diplomatic consultations have been held in the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The cooperation in the area of the fight against organized crime between the police authorities of the two countries has increased significantly, and a week ago has been signed a letter of intent with the Netherlands Ministry of Security and Justice," the Albanian states.
Also, an intensive work has been done in terms of cooperation with the Dutch civil society, which has a strong voice in political decision-making, as the ambassador points out, "During the visits of the ministers in Hague, lectures and debates were held in NGOs and Dutch think tanks, which have a strong voice in political decision-making. "
Meanwhile, the Embassy has also developed cultural activities relating to the promotion of Albania, while, "in its premises there is an Art Gallery in which are constantly held not only business forums but also cultural activities for the promotion of the image of Albania."
