United States President Donald Trump nominated Kathleen Ann Kavalec as the plenipotentiary ambassador to Albania.
Kavalec will receive tomorroy the confirmation by the Senate, he will replace the current Ambassador Donald Lu, whose mandate has ended and will leave Tirana.Kathleen Ann Kavalec serves currently as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the European and Eurasian Affairs Bureau of the US State Department and has over three decades of experience as an American diplomat.
Formerly he served as the Director of the Russian Affairs Office, US Deputy Head of Mission at UNESCO in Paris, Deputy Coordinator for Assistance at the European Bureau and Director for Prevention of Conflicts at the Coordinator's Office for Reconstruction and Stabilization.
Kavalec is fluent in French, Romanian, Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish and Portuguese.
