The President of the Assembly of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, has announced that from today the Kosovo Assembly has become a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie at the meeting held in Canada.
"It is my great pleasure to inform you that the Assembly of Kosovo has just been voted to join the Francophonie Parliamentary Assembly. I am glad that after much effort this initiative, to become part of this important international parliamentary institution was successfully crowned. This is the largest international parliamentary organization where we are part and offers an extraordinary opportunity for parliamentary diplomacy. Through this membership we strengthened the international subjectivity of our state and we will be able to promote Kosovo and build relations with parliamentarians of countries that do not yet recognize us," Veseli said during the announcement of this news at the plenary session. The Membership of the Assembly of Kosovo in the Francophonie is the initiative of the Speaker of Parliament, Kadri Veseli, who months ago met with the leaders of this Assembly, as well as held various meetings during official visits in different countries.
One month ago, on this issue, the Speaker Veseli met in Pristina the General Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, Jacques Krabal.
