Deputy Prime Minister of Macedonia Bujar Osmani said in an interview to RTSH that on the eve of the 30 September referendum is expected to be intensifyed the boycott propaganda.
"We have information that 500 thousand brochures will be thrown from the air in the cities of Macedonia with messages against the referendum," Osmani said, stressing that the government is prepared to face this situation. The analyst Xhelal Neziri adds that the campaign against the referendum has been stretched beyond social networks.
"It is also spoken of Russia-sponsored media that are encouraging citizens to boycott the referendum," Neziri said.
Former Albanian Ambassador to Macedonia, Arben Çejku, spoke at RTSH about Russian influence in the refandum as an attempt to keep Macedonia and the region in a blurry area.
"The failure of the referendum would be a great danger, opening a very dramatic chapter for the country, would also discourage all the reconciliation processes in the Balkan region," said Çejku.
The question addressed to citizens in the September 30 referendum is "Are you going to join the EU and NATO by accepting the Agreement between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Greece?"
This moment is considered historic for Macedonia.
