The Serious Crimes Court has left in jail the lawyer Donada Lepenica and the Prosecutor Yzeir Balas, arrested for a corruption case at the Tirana Prosecutor's Office. While Megi Naksi is left in house arrest. The three persons were arrested on September 20, as involved in a 2,000-euro corruption scheme in changing a security measure.
The case of corruption was discovered in the Tirana Prosecutor's Office a few days ago by the security cameras of this institution. Subsequently, by telephone tapping, the investigative group doubted that the prosecutor Perparim Hasa was paid an amount of 2 thousand euros through the lawyer Donata Lepenica in order to change the indictment for a defendant.After preliminary verifications, Hasa was suspended from office by decision of the Serious Crimes Court. According to telephone tapping, the lawyer is heard talking to her client and offers the security of the charge change, as everything has been resolved with Hasa as the prosecutor of the case.
On the other hand, the prosecutor Hasa has denied being involved in this event, noting that there was no meeting with lawyer Donata Lepenica.
But the security cameras located in this institution have fixed the moment the lawyer enters the prosecutor's office and for this reason, Serious Crimes have blocked the security camera server for several days.
