The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, in the framework of the United Nations General Assembly annual meeting, held a meeting with a group of teachers, students and parents of New York State, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
At this meeting, Minister Bushati thanked the Diaspora teachers, who in their often difficult circumstances, but with an exemplary will and primacy, continue their work to keep alive the Albanian language. To provide little help to these teachers and the Albanian community not only in America, but also in Europe and Australia, the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs has deployed 3800 textbooks in Albanian language, preceding the departure of this school year.
During the meeting, Qemal Zyla, who runs three Albanian schools from 10 years, thanked the Albanian government for the great help it provided by solving an acute problem such as the lack of Albanian textbooks.
Minister Bushati assured the participants that the support of the Albanian government will continue as seen as an obligation to assist all those compatriots working to preserve the Albanian language and identity. In this regard, we are working on the digitization of textbooks so that the distribution and access are immediate in every corner of the world.
