A $ 15 million fund will be invested in Vlahna, Kukës, the second largest mining area of Albania.
The Prime Minister Edi Rama said today after the Government meeting in Kukes."We have completed the procedures for the Vlahna's mining area, which is the second largest mining area in the country, and we forecast a $ 15 million investment worth in the first phase, with a generation of several hundred new job with high wagers for our standards, of course, ranging from $ 700 to $ 1,200," said Rama.
Vllana is estimated to have about 1.390.000 tons / m3 of chromium in a surface area of 1.804 square kilometers. The mine started work in 1986 and by 2006 accounted a total 45,000 tons chrome ore production. This mine is one of the eight mines in Albania that have over 1 million tonnes of chrome reserve.
