The well-known Japanese scholar and Albanologist, dr. Ichiro Iura, who, following the opening of the Albanian Language and Literature Chair at Hiroshima University, has managed that through years of work to translate and publish a number of works of Albanian writers and to make them known for the Japanese public thanks to his continuous efforts.
This is not only a success but also an indisputable indication of the values and importance that this literature carries in the mosaic and world literature developments. Already, the Albanian literary culture is becoming more and more complete in Japanese.The works translated and published by dr. It is noteworthy that after translating a Japanese-Albanian dictionary, about 1000 words, or the translation and publication of the novel The Last City, by prominent Albanian writer Petro Marko, as well as the publication in Japanese of the work of the prominent writer Albanian Ismail Kadare, especially the novel General of the Dead Army, has marked a tremendous success for the Japanese reader and, moreover, it was noticed that this work attracted the attention of the mainly young generation, composed of students and prominent intellectuals.
