In the 40 cities of Italy, the Albanian community is ranked first among foreign communities whose members have regular residence permit. After the Albanian community comes the Moroccan one.
Other communities are concentrated in fewer cities. According to data published by the Italian Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) the Ukrainian community makes up the majority of foreigners in five cities, while other communities are concentrated in 2 or 3 cities. To reflect the concentration of foreigners in Italy according to communities that make up the majority, Il Sole 24 has built a map, according to the majority of foreign citizens with a regular residence permit. As can be seen from the map, where the Albanian community is identified with blue color, the bulk of it is concentrated in Central Italy and the North. While in the South they make up the majority only in five cities.
Foreigners in Italy with a regular residence permit are about 3 million and 700 thousand according to ISTAT data. The two most widespread communities are the Albanians and the Moroccan, which alone account for about a quarter of the total.
In some of the larger cities there are exceptions. Such is the case of Milan, whereis concentrated the Egyptian or Roma community. In the provinces of Palermo and Venice are the citizens of Bangladesh who represent the majority of foreigners with a regular residence permit. In Florence, however, along with Prato's neighboring city, the Chinese constitute the majority of all foreigners with residence permits.
