Minister Ditmir Bushati attended the Warsaw Security Forum. The aim of this Forum established since 2014 is to bring together key policy makers, industry leaders, and military and civilian experts from around the world to discuss the events, opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for the Transatlantic Community.
During this Forum, Minister Bushati held his speech as a panelist at the Ministerial Session with the theme "Finding the Direction in Difficult Times - the EU and the Western Balkans", discussing some of the issues related to the Western Balkans European Integration process, expectations and the future of the Berlin process, within the Summit to be held in Poland.In his speech, Minister Bushati emphasized the process of European integration of the Western Balkans through consolidation of reforms, especially in the area of rule of law. "We are experiencing the enlargement process through reforming the rule of law as a Balkan priority. Rule of law is a prerequisite for building a sustainable society and economic development. Albania is a unique opportunity for its justice reform not only for EU integration but also for the modernization of society," he underlined.
During the proceedings of this forum, Minister Bushati held a meeting with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Poland, Jacek Czaputowicz. The ministers praised the very good institutional and political relations between the two countries, and expressed the interest in intensifying political dialogue in the bilateral and multilateral framework.
Minister Bushati praised Poland's commitment to the organization of the Berlin Summit as an expression of Poland's commitment to BP and the EU Enlargement Process. The head of diplomacy confirmed that Albania remains fully committed to the realization of its European agenda, underlining that the fulfillment of the recommendations is the will of the Government not only in the context of integration, but above all for the future of the country. They agreed on a greater commitment to deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as infrastructure and tourism.
