Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj hosted today the Austrian counterpart Herbert Kickl. The meeting is held in the framework of the Ministerial Workshop, between the European Union and Western Balkan countries on Justice and Home Affairs, held today and to be held tomorrow in Tirana.
The two Interior Ministers meat each-other a few weeks ago in Vienna, while the Austria, in the capacity of the next leading European Union country, is the main promoter of the ministry held in the Albanian capital.The interlocutors confirmed the deep spirit of cooperation between Albania and Austria in the field of security and the fight against criminal phenomena. Senior officials agreed that the co-ordination between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries yielded very satisfactory results.
The Austrian Interior Minister described Albania as a trusted partner and expressed readiness for a joint work plan between the two countries in the security field. According to them, this interaction should be expanded in the broader context of co-ordination between the European Union and Western Balkans countries.
