Macedonian Court confirms two year prison for Nikola Gruevski

Macedonian justice confirmed today a two-year prison sentence for abuse of office over former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, who has governed Macedonia from 2006 until 2016.

"The first instance decision is fully confirmed," the Court said in a statement. As a result, the former head of the country and former nationalist of VMRO-DPMNE party chief must appear within two weeks to suffer the sentence, prosecutor Gavrilo Bubevski announced.

"This is just another political persecution. I will use all legal means to fight this prison sentence," Nikola Gruevski told to local media.
