Norway's Ambassador to Belgrade Arne Bjornstad said his country supports Serbia and Kosovo in reaching an agreement on normalization of relations.
During an interview for the Serbian agency Beta, Bjornstad said Kosovo has the right to form its army."Norway wants Serbia and Kosovo to reach agreement on the normalization of relations, because it is in the best of both sides. Due to current uncertainty, which increases fears of destabilization in the region, Serbia and Kosovo remain deprived of investment and the ability to create jobs. Right now there is no alternative, or at least there is no better alternative to negotiations under EU patronage. I do not see how this (change of format) can bring any other result. Kosovo has the right to do so (to form the army), but respecting legal procedures and consideration for the position of different minorities, especially Kosovo Serbs," Bjornstad said.
