After the inspection ordered by the Minister of Environment, Blendi Klosi, that the Forest Police Inspectorate in cooperation with the National Agency for Protected Areas exercised at the "Safari Park" in Fier, and after the verification of the documentation, the Ministry of Environment decided the measure of suspension of activity and the immediate removal of animals.
The Ministry of Environment announces that the Tirana Zoo has started work on building the necessary infrastructure for the placement of 13 animals. The lions, the fox, the bear, the apes and the wolf will be placed in the cages, in the enclosed facilities at the Zoo of Tirana, environments that are fit for their placement, while the antelope, zebra and deers in open spaces along the garden, in areas specifically enclosed for a normal living for them.It is foreseen that the construction work necessary for the Tirana Zoo will be completed within the next week. Immediately thereafter, all measures have been taken for 4 veterinarians from Germany, Bulgaria and Kosovo, to come in Tirana, who will follow a protocol to transport animals from Safari Park of Fier to Tirana, initially making animals in sleep, then check for mycopy and vaccination if necessary.
