Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has decorated KFOR Commander, Salvatore Cuoci, with the Military Medal for his services in Kosovo.
According to Thaci, the Major General Cuoci, who is completing his mandate as the head of KFOR in Kosovo, has led this force "with the professionalism of a superior military".
"You have been caring not only for KFOR troops, but you have also been attentive to the developments in Kosovo and the region. We highly appreciate the cooperation with all Kosovo institutions in guaranteeing security," said Thaci, in a press release.
Meanwhile, the KFOR Commander, Salvatore Cuoci, thanked President Thaci for his cooperation and appreciation of his engagement in Kosovo. "We will keep our commitment to peace in Kosovo," said General Cuoci.
President Thaçi also thanked Cuoci for his cooperation with the Kosovo Security Force, which is in the process of being transformed into an army.
On November 28 the Commander Cuoci will hand over the post of Commander of KFOR to Major General Lorenzo D'Addario.
