37-year-old Bledi Shkurtaj, an Albanian who fled a few days ago from the Athens police's at Menidhi, was arrested by Greek police during the early hours of Saturday night.
According to early information, he was hiding in a friend's home in the Hajdari neighborhood of Athens, and it took the intervention of the special police forces EKAM to put the handcuffs to the 37-year-old Albanan, which is considered as one of the the most dangerous criminals in Greece.Shkurtaj escaped from the Menidhi police district, where he was held under heavy charges, including the creation of a criminal organization, intentional murder, murder and attempted murder, as well as a series of serious accusations.
He was arrested during a robbery attempt at the Vilia area of Athens, where he was found under the siege of the law enforcement forces, opened fire toward police with a Kalashnikov. From the shootout, the 37-year-old was injured.
Shkurtaj will be sent to Attica Police Department and during the next few days will be sent to Court.
