Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has praised his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama for the expulsion of the Iranian ambassador from Albania.
"Important news from Albania today. The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, expelled the Iranian ambassador from Tirana. By doing so, Prime Minister Rama has sent a clear message to the Iranian radical Islamic regime – that plotting terror attacks has a cost." Netanyahu writes."Israel stands with Albania as it stands with every country that sees the Iranian regime for what it is: the greatest threat to world peace and security."
Albania declared non-grate persons the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Tirana Gholamhossein Mohammadnia as well as another embassy official, allegedly involved in activities that affect the security of the country.
Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs sources reported to Oculus News that Albania's decision to declare the Iranian ambassador and the other official as unwanted is taken in consultation with allied countries because of their activity in Albania in violation of their diplomatic status.
The decision was also welcomed by the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump.
