Public university students are continuing today their protest for the 13-th consecutive day with 8 economic and academic demands.
For many days it is the same condition; the prime minister seeks dialogue and doubts that the students are being used by the opposition, while students say they want their demands fulfiled. They seek to halve university fees, increase the education budget, and take part in faculty management boards and in selecting the university directors.
Students from the universities of Tirana joined also groups of students from the universities of other cities, Durres, Elbasan, Shkodra.
Protesters have interrupted their studies for two weeks and say their demands are non-negotiable and that they will not talk to any of state and university authorities.
Prime Minister Edi Rama also commented today on social networks that the protesters in front of his offices were the activists of the opposition and that he expected to dialogue with student representatives.
Mr. Rama participated in a routine meeting with leaders of the country's main institutions regarding the fight against organized crime, where he had a short speech without connection with the protest of thousands of students.
