Germany's Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has called on Kosovo Tuesday to cancel or at least suspend the 100 per cent tax the Government of Kosovo has put on the goods of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"Another escalation must be urgently prevented," Mass said. "The success of the normalization dialogue must be preserved," he said. In addition, Mass said that the improved relations between the two countries will speed up efforts by Kosovo and Serbia and other Balkan states to be part of the European Union."Rather than thinking of change of minds, Belgrade and Pristina should focus on a viable agreement covering all open questions and enabling a comprehensive normalization," he said.
The Kosovo government has taken a decision weeks ago to impose 100 percent tax on imports of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This measure was opposed by the Serbian side and the international factor, including the United States and the European Union.
