Despite the economic crisis that has touched the neighboring country, Italy, the Albanian businesses operating there record a significant increase in profits, exceeding domestic ones.

For 2017 their turnover has risen to about 3.7 billion euros.

Compared to GDP in Albania, it turns out that this figure is almost 30% of Gross Domestic Product.

The sector where most Albanians operate is construction involving reconstructions or installations.

In this sector the entrepreneurs of Albanian origin own 20,000 activities out of 31,670 that are in total.

Meanwhile, the cities with more Albanian businesses in Italy result to be Florence and Pistoia.

The entrepreneurs explain that they are now fully integrated in this country, despite the strict laws and regulations that apply.

Agron Kecani: We (Albanian community) are integrated here in Italy but relating to the law we are behind mentaly, as we come from a country that actually runs little or no laws and here the laws are very strong.

Interestingly, the fact that most of these Albanian entrepreneurs have arrived in Italy illegally and all of them begun from zero.
