The European Union lacks about 3.8 million workers, mostly from the medical field, specialists and skilled workers from metallurgy and information technology, the latest EUROSTAT data announced.
About 1 million and 200 thousand workers are sought by Germany, where starting from January 2020, a simplified way of six-month visas will come into effect for those who want to look for work. This measure refers to all countries outside the EU, including the Western Balkans.In addition to Germany, around 821,000 skilled workers are required by the UK, Czech Republic with 271,000, Poland 156,000, Belgium 149,000, Austria 126,000, Spain 125,000, Sweden 103,000 and Hungary 87,000.
