Russia reacted after the satement of the Prime Minister Edi Rama who said that Kosovo is part of Albania, calling it "unacceptable". Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova used the regular press conference to pass on the Moscow's response to the allegations of the chief of the Albanian executive.
According to her Russia can not stay speechless, especially when Rama, as Zakharova pointed out, made it clear that the Kosovo union with Albania is not a "Plan B" but a "Plan A"."We thought perhaps that his statement was not well-translated, so we verified it several times. The Albanian Prime Minister linked the implementation of this plan with current discussions on border correction in the framework of the negotiation process and the reaching a final agreement between Belgrade and Pristina. We consider that such rhetoric is totally unacceptable. This is an issue related to the violation of the territorial integrity of Serbia and the status of the Autonomous Region of Kosovo," Zakharova said.
"We see this as a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1244, she continued."
Zakharova stressed once again that Russia's position on resolving the Kosovo issue remains unchanged.
