One of the main reasons of why Bënja is experiencing increase of visitors each year, not only within Albania but also of foreigners, is because of its thermal waters sources.Their curative and healing values of some diseases are estimated as extraordinary and even many specialists classify these thermal waters as the best in Europe.
The thermomineral waters of Bënja are studied in terms of chemical content and also from the analytical and scientific point of view.
The researchers evaluate these waters as sulfate sources, with high content of bicarbonate soda.
According to them, these sources are special, not only because they are in hot water, but they contain dissolved mineral substances, which give them therapeutic properties.
The Diseases these Waters Treat
Bënja's thermal waters are a rare natural phenomenon.
All the main sources of the thermomineral of sulphur waters are very close to each other, at a length of almost one kilometre, and all these circumstances create conditions for investment of interest.
According to specialists, the sulphur-based waters have very high curative effects, especially for rheumatism.
There are four thermal sources that deal with rheumatism problems, and two others, one for all kind of skin problems and other for stomach problems.

Bënja's thermal waters, or otherwise known as Banja Baths, are located 14 kilometres East of Permet, as part of the Petran Commune; 3 kilometres away from where the River Vjosa joins the Langarica Stream.
Their speciality is that these are open source in nature.
The temperature of these waters goes varies from 26 to 32 degrees Celius.
