In total, in the last 5 years the amount of sequestrated criminal assets is 158 million euros.

This is what said today in the Parliament the State Secretary for Relations with Parliament, the Government spokeswoman, Elisa Spiropali, bringing concrete figures on the results of the work of the State Police.

"Only in the first two months of 2019 we have 60 cases referred to money laundering and € 8.2 million seized. While at the time of the opposition in total are seized 1.2 million euros, when 1 million euros are sequestered in a single blow. The change is clear," Spiropali said.

State Police, according to her, is one of the institutions that has maintained justice in the country. "This country has killed policemen, has not murdered judges or prosecutors..." she added.

She highlighted the success of the police within the "Force of Law" operations, where all law enforcement agencies work together uncompromisingly against crime.

"Previously they worked as independent parcels, because they were directed by certain clans. In less than a year and a half, 24 high-profile operations were organized with the arrest of 280 suspects for involvement in criminal groups. 14 criminal groups have been hit and 27 million euros suspected of illegal origin have been taken away by criminals," she said.

Spiropali also spoke about the successes of the State Police in the fight against cannabis cultivation and trafficking, as well as the reduction of crimes 'against the person'.
