2401 businesses registered and 444 closed in Kosovo in three months
 

 The Closing business in Kosovo has continued throughout the year. Whereas, only in the last three months of 2018, 444 businesses have been closed, the quarterly report of the Central Bank of Kosovo (CBK) estimates.

In this report CBK has also shown that during the last three months of the year about 2401 businesses have been recorded or 25 percent more, compared to the same period of 2017.

"... while during this period 444 enterprises were closed or 2.8 percent more, compared to the same period of 2017."

According to the Central Bank of Kosovo, an important indicator of developments in the real sector is the number of new registered businesses.

"Unlike 2017, which was characterized by the smallest number of registered enterprises, in 2018 there were 9,805 new enterprises or 6.3 percent more compared to 2017. Also, the number of closed enterprises was smaller, 1,426 or 12.1 percent less than in 2017. "

CBK shows that the largest number of registered enterprises continues to be concentrated in the trade sector with 2,525 new enterprises, followed by the manufacturing sector with 1,109 enterprises, hotels with 988 enterprises and construction with 959 enterprises

"Compared to 2017, most of the sectors have recorded a larger number of registered enterprises. In the manufacturing sector, 219 more enterprises were registered, in the construction sector 120 more enterprises, in the trade sector 63 more enterprises, etc. While the sectors that recorded fewer registered enterprises were the agriculture sector (196 small enterprises), transport (38 small enterprises), financial activities (26 small enterprises), etc."
