Ervin Bushati |
Socialist Party MP Ervin Bushati said that although the Opposition MPs have decided to give up their mandates, this does not affect the work of the Assembly.
During an interview, Bushati stressed that there is no political crisis in the country and that the country at this moment needs to be stable."The Parliament functions normally, we have a solid majority, there is no political crisis. The new opposition MPs are not those of SP, but part of DP and SMI, I do not know of how they will vote in the parliament. In these moments it is important for this stability and Albania to move forward. The act of handing over the mandates of the opposition and abandoning the Parliament is very wrong and a great deal of damage to Albania, especially in these moments."
Focusing on the March 16 protest, Bushati said that DP and SMI invite people to protests, but should distance themselves from violence.
"The protests are a democratic right as long as they are quiet, any person committing acts of violence will face proportional response from the authorities. As an economist I see with concern the situation of chaos and demonization of Albania, and if the protests will damage the country's economy, this cost will be held by these parties. I am sorry that a small group of people go in protests to undermine Albania's image. The close interest is that Lulzim Basha wants to become prime minister with little effort. This majority is focused on continuing its work by 2021, defending the state and democracy. We are maintaining democratic principles, the government has been voted by the citizens," Bushati said.
