Drenas National Stadium project in Kosovo, ready in July

 The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of Kosovo, Kujtim Gashi, reported today to the Parliamentary Committee for Education, Science, Technology, Culture, Youth, Sports, Innovation and Entrepreneurship for the last quarter of 2018.

He stressed this year's budget increase for all the cultural institutions, with particular emphasis on the film.

"Kosovo for the first time is featured with a state-funded film in one of the biggest festivals in the world, in Berlinale, the film 'In The Middle' by Prizren director Samir Karahoda," said Minister Gashi.

With regard to cultural heritage, Minister Gashi said that the protection, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage continues to be one of the priorities of the ministry.

"The work program is based on the document National Strategy for Cultural Heritage 2017-2027 and the priorities sent in the framework of the Government Work Plan. The plan is extended to five objectives and is implemented by all subordinate institutions of cultural heritage," he said.

Furthermore, he announced that the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports has finalised the Draft Strategy for Youth 2019-2023 and the Youth Action Plan 2019-2021, which is expected to be approved next month.

Speaking about the priorities about sport, Minister Gashi said that they will be the modernization of sports infrastructure according to international standards; construction of the national stadium in the municipality of Drenas, clarifying that the project has begun to be drafted and will be ready by July, as well as the stadium 'Adem Jashari' from the category II to IV.

The Parliamentary Committee for Education, Science, Technology, Culture, Youth, Sports, Innovation and Entrepreneurship assessed the recent achievements and implementation of various projects in the last quarter of the ministry reported by Minister Gashi and also praised the correctness of Minister Gashi in reporting to the Commission.

The Commission has also highly appreciated the readiness of Minister Gashi to report before this mechanism of the Assembly, whenever it is necessary to do so.
