German authorities arrested 10 people planning a terrorist attack

Authorities in Germany have arrested ten people after allegations of planning an Islamic terrorist attack. These people had planned to kill as many "unbelievers" using a car and weapons, the authorities said.

A 21-year-old from Offenbach near Frankfurt and two 31-year-old brothers from Wiesbaden are the main suspects of organizing the attack.

"They had been in contact with weapons holders, rented a large car, and had collected funds to pay for weapons and murder plans," an information officer from the prosecutor's office said.

"The suspects are aged between 20 and 42-year old, and most of them are of German nationality," he added.

The police have confiscated 20,000 euros as well as knives, narcotic substances, documents and electrical tools.

"Germany has been alarmed by jihadist attacks throughout Europe in 2016. In 2016, a person with a truck in central Berlin killed 12 people.
