An 37-year-old Albanian woman is arrested on suspicion of assisting some Albanian criminal groups to provide 500 British passports.

Her arrest is made by the National Crime Agency under an operation aimed at identifying a criminal network that facilitated the granting of British citizenship and passports, as well as the money laundering for the criminals, as British media report.

As the name of the 37-year-old Albanian has not been revealed by the British, it is learned that she lives in Ilford.

British police believe that this network has provided services ot criminals, including human and drug traffickers, or even kidnappers.

The woman, who allegedly had set up a bogus business and helped persons to get equipped with passports on hundreds of cases, is arrested on charges of fraud the day before.

The National Crime Agency underlined that it is left free today as investigations for its involvement are ongoing.

"We believe this network has offered to the criminals a way to get UK passports, giving them the means to commit serious crimes and move under the law enforcement radar," said Andrea Wilson, local head of the National Crime Agency.
