The Interior Minister Sandër Lleshaj awarded with the "Medal of Honor" the police officer Ina Nuka, who was injured during the opposition protests of November 22, 2018, in front of the Albanian Parliament while on duty in an Opposition protest. At the ceremony held in the Ministry of Interior, where were present the highest officials of the State Police and some colleagues of the "Eagle" section, Minister Lleshaj expressed his appreciation for the State Police for the courage and commitment shown by Nuka.
The Interior Minister announced that there will soon be changes to the Criminal Code, to tighten the punishment for the people who raise their hands against state police officers on duty."I want to use this moment to thank you, Ina, for your contribution, for the good model you have shown, for your engagement in serving the citizens, although you have suffered an injury by an irresponsible citizen and I hope to have been already minimised over time. I have said it other times, that we feel good that we have such dedicated police officers who have patriotism, have courage, have professionalism and therefore I have decided to give you a gratitude for a Medal of Honor of the Minister of Interior, telling you that through it I express all my considerations and my appreciation as Minister of Interior, but also the Ministry of Interior and all State Police, for your engagement. I hope that you continue this commitment by proving and perfecting the values that you have characterized, as well as by providing service and contribution for the further modernization of our common police," said Minister Lleshaj.
Police Officer Ina Nuka said she felt honored for the appreciation shown and added that her dream continues to be the State Police.
"Maybe the words are too much, but I just want to thank you all for your gratitude, and if I have a dream or continue to have it, I'm not here to talk to you, but to be there, among my collegues," she said. Ina Nuka is wounded with a capsule thrown from the rally in the November riot and underwent some specialized medical interventions in Turkey.
