The Vice President of the Group of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, Tanja Fajon congratulated the Congress of the Socialist Party, saying that Albania deserves the opening of negotiations in June.
Tanja Fajon says:"Two months before the European elections we are facing many challenges. Brex's case remains unresolved, questioning whether European elections will hold the UK in the EU without a clear answer. We are faced with the claims of right-wing extremists and right-wing ideology politics in some countries. It remains to be seen how the new European Parliament will look and what interests will bring about enlargement policies. We strongly support the opening of negotiations with the EU and I sincerely hope that this will happen within two months. I believe Albania deserves to be given a green light to start negotiations for accession to the European Union this year."
