The Prosecutor Antoneta Sevdari doubts on the Vetting process, after she's dismissed

After the Special Appeals Commission decided to dismiss the Prosecutor Antoneta Sevdari, member of the High Council of Prosecutor's Office, the latter addressed an open letter to the heads of institutions in the country, the diplomatic missions and the institutions that compose the vetting.

The Prosecutor expressed her disappointment about the motivation of  her dismissal: "From the loss of public confidence" and raises strong questions about the verity of the vetting.

"I fought hard! I sacrificed! I have collided and resisted anyone who tried to hinder me in my mission against criminality in order to ensure peace and justice in our country! I did not violated the given promise! I'm not back! I'm not flippant! I have served you, as I solemnly promised, with transparency, honesty, high professionalism but, most importantly, with devotion and a high sense of personal responsibility," she says.

She further says that vettingu is not serving the purpose for which it was created, "The removing corrupt and professionally incapable prosecutors and judges and ensuring that prosecutors and judges with integrity and professional competence to continue to serve to Justice as they so far have done."

In her analysis, Sevdari says that for only two reasons she can be discharged, from the inability of those who have tried her.

"I invite you to investigate and take all possible measures so that the Albanian people will not be disappointed again this time. This would cost us the confidence of Albanians in reforming the justice system and democratic processes for the country's development towards European Union membership."
