A day before the Albanian Opposition held a massive protest in Tirana, where the protesters have been scattered with gas and water and some of them and police officers have been injured. But today, as if nothing happened, entertainment, sports, music, handicrafts, and healthy food was what the capital offered to all the citizens who chose Tirana to spend the Summer Day. Thousands of citizens of all ages, many of whom came from the districts of Albania, have also become part of celebrations organized in the streets and squares of the capital.
The celebrations started at 10:00 am, with the parade of carnivals, where children from different schools of the capital paraded in the direction of the Tirana Artificial Lake. Then the celebrations continued with sports and music activities.One of the best pilots in the world, Martin Sonka, performed with his sport airplane in the sky above Skanderbeg Square.
This celebration has been joined by the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who started the day planting new trees in different areas of the capital.
"I want to wish from the heart on behalf of the Municipality of Tirana and all our citizens happy Summer Day! Today we had a day full of activities. Everyone predicted that it would be rain, but Lord saw us and we had a fantastic day. We started with some massive planting in the suburbs of Tirana, then the Lake, where we had endless activities, and then to the Skanderbeg Square. I want to wish you all a good season. The Spring Season, the Summer season, the coming of a new era is perhaps a moment to reflect and understand that when we are together, we do miracles," Veliaj said. He also thanked the Albanian Aeronautics Federation for the performances created.
