Thousands of Croatians demonstrated in Zagreb on Saturday, seeking tougher measures against domestic violence and more training for employees in state institutions to help them solve the problems.
The rally was prompted by a recent case on the Adriatic island of Pag, where a parent threw four of his children out of a window on the upper floor. The children aged three, five, seven and eight suffered serious injuries."We want domestic violence to be treated as a criminal offence," one of the organizers of the protest said to Reuters.
