The Turkish submarine "TCG GÜR S-357", which carried the Turkish flag, but also the Albanian flag as the host country, landed at the Port of Durres on Thursday morning, where they were welcomed by representatives of Turkish institutions in Albania, as well as representatives of institutions of Albania.
At the reception of the submarine were present the military attaché of the Republic of Turkey in Albania, Colonel Şakir Cumhur Somer, representatives of the Albanian Maritime Force Staff, Turkish and Albanian military, who welcomed the submarine staff.
"TCG GÜR S-357" will stay in Durrës until March 18, while will be visited in the following days by representatives of Turkish institutions in Albania and Albanian officials.
Will also be visited on Friday by representatives of local institutions in the city of Durres.
The Turkish submarine "TCG GÜR S-357" arrived at the Port of Durres in implementation of the military cooperation plan between the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Albania, while its visit aims to deepen the cooperation in the military field between the two countries.
The submarine is 62 meters long, 6,2 meters wide and weighs 1,400 tons, while its staff consists of 45 people.
In recent years, Albania has been visited by several Turkish submarines, in the framework of developing relations and military cooperation between Turkey and Albania. Last November, the Port of Durres was also visited by the Turkish Maritime Forces Frigate "TCG ORUÇREİS F-245".
