Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama paid an official visit to Qatar at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, His Excellency Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The head of the Albanian government was welcomed with a special official ceremony attended by the highest personalities of the Qatar.Prime Minister Rama was received in a special meeting by the Emir of Qatar.
During the meeting, the interlocutors praised the good relations between the two countries and expressed their commitment to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, mainly in tourism and infrastructure.
Also, the development of tourism and mutual trade was highlighted as a priority.
During the visit to Qatar, Prime Minister Edi Rama held a bilateral meeting with Qatar Prime Minister Abdullah bin Naser Al Khalifa Al Thani.
The counterparts praised the existing co-operation between the countries, and agreed that the cooperative potential would be further developed in areas such as agriculture, agro-industry, energy and, in particular, renewable energy. The cooperation in the field of air transport was also welcomed.
Qatari Prime Minister said that a special working group has been set up, which is headed by him, who will soon pay a visit to Albania in order to identify the potential and the best orientation of investments in the Albania - Qatar cooperation.
Also, several agreements were signed during the meeting: The Agreement on Maritime Transport between Qatar State Government and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania, etc.
The agreements were signed by the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, and the Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Etja Xhafaj.
