 Narta Lagoon with a surface of 42 square kilometers is one of the most important lagoons of Albania. Several years after the hunting moratorium came into force, many birds have been added to this habitat, which already has their own habitat, as flamingos, pelicans, wild ducks and so on.

Making thus this area a tourism attraction not only for the natural beauty it offers, but also for the nbeuty of these birds.

"There is an increase in number, not only of the Flamingos but also of the variety of birds in the Narta lagoon. We have counted about 6,000 flamingos. We have white, small nose. We have big white, we have curly pelicans, we have counted 10-20 pelicans here in the lagoon. There are about 34 species of birds here in Winter, counted this year in Narta. There are about 1700 individuals," said Florian Rustemi to Top Channel, a specialist of the protected areas.

Flamingos, have become permanent residents of the Narta lagoon and according to specialists these birds are no longer moving.

In addition to the beauty of the area or the Church of Saint Mary and the island of Zvërnec, flamingos with their unique stance on one foot are another reason to visit this beautiful part of Albania.
