Health Index 2019: Albania worsened in Europe

 

 Tirana is ranked at 82 place out of the 84 cities that are being considered in Europe in terms of the Health Index. By 2019, Tirana has scored 46.5 points out of 100 in the health index published by the largest website on life quality and cost, Numbeo. In the ranking Tirana is left behind by Budapest, Hungary, and has left behind Galway in Ireland and Kharkin in Ukraine.

Tirana is positioned worse than the other capitals of the region. After Tirana Sarajevo is ranked 76th, which scored 51.6 points, followed by Belgrade in 69th place with 54 points, while Skopje ranks 61th with 58.9 points out of 100.

The data collected in 2017 shows that Albania has scored 52.7 points out of 100 that are in total. Compared to the countries in the region in 2017, Albania's position is very low. Belgrade ranks 76th with 55.8 points, followed by Sarajevo in 62th place with 63 points and Skopje in 59th place with 63.2 points.

The worst in the index are the cities of Romania, Ukraine and Serbia.

In Europe, in terms of health quality is Utrecht, Netherlands. The city of Utrcht has scored about 91 points out of 100 that are in total.


To generate the index, Numbeo collects data in 36 months. The index only includes cities for which there are at least a number of contributing representatives. Data is published every six months.

The health index is an estimation of the quality of the healthcare system, health professionals, equipment, staff, doctor and costs.

After computing with the relevant formulas of these indicators, Numbeo scores with points from 0 to 100 the
health index. The lower this indicator, the weaker the health is the respecive country.
